There just needs to be a difficulty selection for each race. Underground had this, but it seemed to set a rubberbanding time gap (e.g. 2 seconds ahead) rather than an actual skill level. They could have the hardest difficulty AI pushing their car to the limit all the time, and on easy they drive at about 60% with a worse line. I would recommend you start with the og Underground and then the sequel. Story of mw and carbon was writed by andreas lansky aka Andrew McPherson. There's no proof that's true, in fact there's minor evidence that UG2 & MW have the same protagonist, which would connect each game together.
