Heat compared to Golden-Era NFS? (Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon) Discussion What is the general consensus here? Is NFS Heat worthy as a successor to the best of the series? Would you put Heat above Underground 2, Most Wanted and/or Carbon? If not where does it stand among recent NFS?

Everybody agrees that Need for Speed: Underground 2 is a legend. It was a great street racing sensation, as anyone who played it on the PS2 or PC would testify. NFS Underground 2 marked the start of the series apex, as many aficionados would also admit. Then, after Most Wanted, Carbon would bring it all to a close.

I disagree. There just needs to be a difficulty selection for each race. Underground had this, but it seemed to set a rubberbanding time gap (e.g. 2 seconds ahead) rather than an actual skill level. They could have the hardest difficulty AI pushing their car to the limit all the time, and on easy they drive at about 60% with a worse line.
I would recommend you start with the og Underground and then the sequel. That UG1 intro and the first race sequence and cutscene with the Vortex Integra Type R are enough reasons for me to go replay again, but yes Underground 2 is the better of the two.

Undercover isn't take place in ug storyline and mw and carbon story line. Story of mw and carbon was writed by andreas lansky aka Andrew McPherson. There's no proof that's true, in fact there's minor evidence that UG2 & MW have the same protagonist, which would connect each game together.
